Paying it
forward
The Team John Foundation was started to help those who fall into crisis. Through John's personal battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (2014, 2020 & 2021) he saw the generosity of those in his community. He felt compelled to give back and immediately started the first fundraisers directly with The Jimmy Fund. These events raised close to $100,000 over the years and all went to help families battling cancer and stem-cell research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Thank you for your support!

FIGHT
OUR WHY
The summer of 2020 John's cancer relapsed and he had to go fight again...back to Dana-Farber. Once home through a conversation with his wife, Tatum, the idea to create a formal charity came to him as he was looking for the bigger purpose in life. That is when the idea was born and is now a recognized 501(c)(3). We recognize that many people in our inner circle battle with sudden family crisis. We have experienced it ourselves and have seen it happen to close friends over the years and especially in 2020. We understand that the community that we are a part of has been very generous by helping us through our difficult times. Many people that encounter crisis in life may not have a similar community to help them. We believe the saying...it takes a village...and we want to be a part of that village for those who need us most.
OUR MISSION
Team John Foundation's Mission is to help those that fall into crisis. Not only when someone is diagnosed with cancer but also for any immediate crisis where a loved one is lost or displaced due to sudden illness or accident. We will also donate funds to Stem Cell research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute to help find even better ways to cure these terrible diseases.
THANK YOU
I want to take this time to thank my wife Tatum and children for being there for me. My wife took care of everything while I had been away during both cancer battles...she is my rock! My children handled this situation like very mature, understanding and loving kids. Thank you to my parents and In-laws who were there for us providing ANYTHING we needed to get through this. My Brothers and Sisters and the rest of my loving family and dear friends (too many to mention) were with us every step of the way providing love and support and were a big help while I was Kicking Cancers' Arse!
Thank you to our friends from our children's school, for taking care of meals, prayers and continued love which displayed the truest meaning of community.
THANK YOU (CONT)
I must thank the Doctors of Dana Farber and amazing RN's and PCA's at Brigham and Women's (Boston, MA) in pod 6a (both times) for the unbelievable knowledge, experience and care showing why they are the best in the industry! Finally, I want to thank the person who gave me the chance to beat this disease and live a longer life soaking in every moment...Brian Krause (again in 2020). I know I will never be able to repay you for the gift you have given me but want you to know how much I love you and appreciate the selfless gift you gave. I just hope that with your DNA, my golf game doesn't go downhill. Love you Bro!!!
What is Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)?
Leukemias are cancers that start in cells that would normally develop into different types of blood cells. Most often, leukemia starts in early forms of white blood cells, but some leukemias start in other blood cell types. There are several types of leukemia, which are divided based mainly on whether the leukemia is acute (fast growing) or chronic (slower growing), and whether it starts in myeloid cells or lymphoid cells.
